The Golden Rule Character Award program in the Glynn County Schools was the dream of the late Helen Whittle Katz, founder of the Katz-Helen and Ray Whittle Jr. Foundation, which provides the funds for all program awards. Started during the 1999-2000 school year, the program promotes positive character development by stressing the importance of the Golden Rule: βDo unto others as you would have them do unto you.β
