Beating the Odds: RMS Earns State Recognition Again

Congratulations to our Wildcat students and teachers! For the second year in a row, Risley Middle School has been recognized as a Beating the Odds school by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA).
This distinction is based on a statistical analysis that compares a school’s actual performance on the CCRPI to that of schools with similar characteristics across the state, such as demographics and poverty levels. Schools that exceed projected performance are identified as “Beating the Odds.”
Using regression analysis, GOSA highlights schools that demonstrate stronger-than-expected academic achievement within a single school year. This honor, released in May 2026 for the 2025 school year, reflects the continued dedication and success of the RMS community.
