You have spent a lot of time generating fictional ideas from many different sources.  It is now time to expand on those ideas to create a full story.  You will choose 1 of your ideas and create a fiction(made up) short story.  This story should be completed in 1 class period.  (1-2 pages is an appropriate length)

If you don’t want to use one of your ideas you can write your narrative based on the following prompt: Write a story about an unusually weird day at school.

These things should be included in your writing:
I can write a narrative with a beginning, middle, and end.
I can use transition words to tell what happened in order.
I can ‘show’ what happened in my story rather than just tell.
I can develop realistic characters
I can have my characters use dialogue

Your job today is to come up with as many story ideas as you can.
Make your story ideas detailed and write them down.
These should be stories that you wish existed in the world

Create a list of small moments: True things that you have experienced, you want to focus on small amounts of time so that you can be detailed and descriptive about them.  These TRUE small moments will lead you to come up with ideas for full FICTION stories.

I'm really eager to understand what you can do as writers of narratives, of stories, so today, will you please write the best personal narrative, the best true story, that you can write?  Make this be the story of one time in your life.  You might focus on just a scene or two.  You'll have only the class period to write this true story, so you'll need to plan, draft, revise, and edit in one sitting.  Write in a way that allows you to show off all you know about narrative writing.
In your writing, make sure to:
