Trautz Period7-2022-FY Assignments

Tomorrow we will start the building process of our Egg Drop Lab. Pay attention in class because I will be going over the instructions and important details for this fun lab. 

Today we are going to do some research by completing an online simulation of an egg drop lab. Answer the questions by completing the simulation. You will have to modify the conditions to see the different outcomes.

This is a review of vocabulary. You can use your notes or the internet to help you find the answers. It is due today and I will grade it out of how many questions you were able to answer.  It will count for a test grade.

I will not be here today, but I should be back tomorrow. Make sure you are on your BEST behavior. Here are a few things to know about today's assignments:
You have a good bit of work so you do not have time for talking and playing games on the computer today. Use your time wisely! 
Follow the instructions on each assignment. Read them first before you ask questions about what to do. 
You can use your notes for each assignment. They will be GRADED. 
Here are the assignments (COMPLETE THEM IN ORDER):


1. Newton's Laws of Motion Abracadabra Pixel Art


2. Newton's Laws of Motion Quiz 
This is not actually going to count as a quiz grade, but it will be graded
Use your notes to help you out. 
Make sure to click "view your results" once you finish to see if you made any mistakes. 
3. Newton's Laws of Motion Webquest
You need to use the links on the Google Doc to help you answer the questions, but you can also use your notes if you can't find the answers on the websites.
The link for the Bumper Cars section of the web quest is not working. I posted the link on this assignment. 

Read and complete the slides on balanced and unbalanced forces.

Complete the attached Google Slides in class today.

You will ONLY have TWO DAYS to complete this assignment. 



Your assignment is on the attached Google Slide presentation.
It will count for a PROJECT GRADE. Use your time wisely. 
Complete the “MUST DO” and “SHOW WHAT YOU KNOW” slides for a grade. Click on the hyperlinks from slide one to get to the must do slides. 
Read the instructions on the first slide to see what to do on the other slides. 
You do not have to do the task that has an "X" through it. You also do not have to do the work on the slides that say "don't worry about this slide."
Pace yourself..try to complete 1-2 tasks today, and 1-2 tasks tomorrow.


I have attached some links to help you with the LAST SLIDE. Read through these websites to find examples, then use Google to find pictures and attach them.

Today we completed following:


1. Took notes on Physical and Chemical Changes (Please look over the Google Slides, I will have a copy of the notes for you when you return). 
2. Completed the States of Matter Color by Number.

We will be working on a project today and tomorrow in class. Projects are due at the end of class on Wednesday.

Complete the attached Google Doc by watching your classmates Flipgrid responses. The link to watch each others Flipgrids is linked to this assignment.

Today you will be placed in groups. Your group will be given a topic to explain in a FlipGrid. Click on the link attached to this assignment to record your video. SIgn into FlipGrid using Google. 


In your video you must...

Explain your topic clearly so that your classmates can learn from you.
Use your science vocabulary that relates to your topic.
Use a picture or some type of visual to describe your topic (demonstrations/labs will count as extra credit)
Be at least 2 minutes long (can be up to 5 minutes).
Each person from your group must speak in your video. 
Show your face in your video.

Today you will complete the following: 

1) Static Electricity Reading (handout) (classwork grade) 
Read through the article on static electricity and answer the questions on a google docs that has been assigned to you. Please answer in complete sentences. 
2) Static Electricity Phet Lab (handout) (lab grade)
Using the link provided, follow the directions and answer the questions on your lab sheet. 
3) Watch the brainpop on Static Electricity and take the quiz (login with google/clever)

Complete the task on the attached Google Doc. 

You will need your headphones for this.

Today and tomorrow you will be completing a project in class. It is due at the end of class Friday (9/24) for a project grade. 
To help you stay on pace, you should complete the first 3 slides today (9/23), and the rest of the project on Friday (9/24). 
You should be able to complete most of these without your notes, but you can use them to help you answer questions. 
Also, I have provided some additional websites that may help you out. 
*Pay close attention to the Greenhouse link and the Ocean current link...they will help you with the last slide on your project.

I will be coaching a volleyball game during your classes today. Be on your best behavior!
You will need to use your study guide to answer the questions on the Google Form FIRST. Once you have completed this go back and check your answers. Make sure your paper copy of the study guide has the correct answers. 
Play each quizzizz game (there are two linked here). Your goal is to make an 80% or higher. You can play as many times as you need to get this score.
