Make sure you have completed the assignments from yesterday and Achieve - The Dream Lives on. Then keep working on your assignment to write your memory Narrative with 3-5 types of figurative language. That assignment is in Google Classroom. If finished you can begin to complete the next IXL assignment which will be S. 3-6 at 80%. Then complete these though questions from the Achieve Article. (See attached Google Document)

This is a Pre- Test. Do your BEST and we will do the final test on figurative language on Friday! When you finish the pre-test do your writing assignment on the board.

Vocabulary Words are Apprehension, Prudence, Precepts, Unabated, Denunciation, Vindication, Depravity, and Commerce. Apprehension was already done for you as an example.

20pts - quality of main idea and supporting details in the writing, 
20pts - overall strength of vocabulary, 
10pts - Strength of introduction 
10pts, strength of conclusion 
20pts, general evidence/detail/facts/explanation that elaborate and create vivid, interesting writing 
20pts correct capitalization and spelling, variety of sentence structure

This is the beginning of an essay project we will be working on. I will give you more instructions on the slides but today on your own, just complete slides 1-10. There are composition questions and vocabulary to complete. Tomorrow we will get into groups to begin working through the rest of the slides.

For the rest of the week, I want you to keep working through your Literary Analysis Essay Project. It will still be listed under the title Split List Assignment 11-14-22. These slides are going to end with an essay. Do your best to complete all of them. When we return we will go over them together and complete your essays.

Essay Prompt - Describe bionic technology that repairs damage to the human body and bionic technology that enhances the human body.

Write a 4 paragraph informative essay. Make sure to have a introduction, paragraph on repairs, paragraph on enhancements, and conclusion paragraph.

Choose a story you have written (a quick write from your writer’s notebook).  Create a Good Document. Type it up.

Make sure your story has:
Indented paragraphs
Strong, exciting vocabulary
Capital letters and periods at the end of complete sentences
A conclusion

Discuss the “Swing and Miss” Achieve3000 article.  Write a constructed response to the second discussion question.
